Or 20..... <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br class="Apple-interchange-newline" /></span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Anyone can make soap. I love making soap! And am happy to help others, but simply don't have time. If you have contacted me, I am sending you this link as your answer is here! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I am emailed many times a day asking for information. Either asking for my formulas, or how to make soap. I usually respond with resources, answering questions as time allows, and helping any way I can. However, often people are looking for step by step how to's, asking me to research their formulas, and answer detailed questions that are explained in the links I already provided. I simply don't have time to answer the plethora of questions I receive. Here are my thoughts to many of the daily comments and emails. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b>How do you get started making soap?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Reserach. Research. And then research some more! Soap making can be dangerous. It is NOT a get rich quick scheme. Most soap makers make soap because it is a passion. I began making soap for my children and their horrific skin issues. I was a mom on a mission. But the decision wasn't a quick one. I spent months and months reading everything I could get my hands on. Watching YouTube videos, learning all I could about oil properties, soap qualities, how to formulate recipes, water discounts, DOS, lye, cure time, safety, just to name a few! Then I began soaping with published recipes. Until you have a good understanding of these things, the only soap you should be making is melt and pour. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b>What resources would you suggest?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Books: </span><br />

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Websites:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><a href="http://www.soapqueen.com/">http://www.soapqueen.com/</a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><a href="http://www.soaping101.com/">http://www.soaping101.com/</a> </span><br />
<a href="http://soapcalc.net/"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">http://soapcalc.net/</span></a><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b>Can I have your recipe?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">No. I spent years formulating my recipes. They are of my own creation, developed with lots of expense, trial and error. Think of it this way. One would not simply walk into Starbucks and ask them for their lemon loaf recipe, and expect to get it. Or email Johnson & Johnson and ask for their baby wash formula. Recipes are usually proprietary. You can try to duplicate it, but will never truly be able to. Honestly, asking a person or a business for their recipe is rude. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b>Why do you post YouTube videos if you aren't giving me your recipe?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Several reasons. I love watching soap videos, and I am not the only one. It is a way for me to give back to those who have shared their videos and talent with me! And let's face it. YouTube is social media, and a great way to get my business out there. Someone once asked me if I actually thought people would buy after watching - well yes, that is the idea. YouTube is a great marketing tool. It's also a great way for me to store my videos to refer back to when remaking a soap, and not taking up valuable hard drive space. And I have fun doing it. So I post videos because I want to. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b>Where did you get - Fragrance, Color, tools, etc.</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">All over. There are many suppliers on the internet. Google, join Facebook groups, and once again, research. I have many suppliers I use. Just because I like a certain supplier, doesn't mean someone else will. A few of my favorites: Bramble Berry, Nutures, Mad Oils, Wholesale Supplies Plus, Natures Garden, Soapers Choice, BeScented. But these are just a few. The list goes on and on.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I want to start a soap making business but have never made soap.</span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">SO many things I want to say about this. In my opinion, you should not sell soap until you have been successfully been making it for at least a year. You need to understand oil properties, lye calculators, and most importantly, what your soap does after lengthy cure. Problems with soap do not always appear right away. DOS can occur months after soap has been curing. Don't know what DOS is? You should not be selling soap. It is my opinion that your soap should be of your own creation, and not someone else's. This takes much time! You also need to understand FDA labeling laws. And follow them! Soapers who don't follow the law make it more difficult for those that do. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Can you tell me if this is a good soap recipe? </span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">No. Unless I make it myself, or try it, I can't give you my opinion on it. All recipes - even published ones - should be run through a lye calculator prior to making. This is the one I suggest: http://soapcalc.net/ There is a ton of information on SoapCalc about oil and soap properties. I can't stress enough the importance of reading through this and understanding the information. I simply don't have time to do the work for you here.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b>I want to copy your design.</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">No thank you. You may think this is flattering, but it is not. Part of soap making is the artistic aspect. The creative freedom. Be inspired. Try a technique. But make it your own. </span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I want to make cold process soap to sell next week.</span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ummmm NO. If you don't know cold process soap should cure for 4-6 weeks minimum, (recipe dependent - it could be longer! Never shorter! This is only something you will know with time!), you should not be selling your soap! Make hot process instead for faster cure time, but again, do your research. Or better yet, make melt and pour. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b><i>I hope you take advantage of the information I provided, and find it helpful in your soaping journey! Most soapers start their journey on their own. I did not have help when I began. Everything I know I learned on my own. And from that dedication, my passion grew. In order to be passionate about what you do, you need to be your own expert! The only way to make that happen is with you! </i></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b><i>Happy Soaping!</i></b></span><br />

For those who don't, it's a monthly challenge for soapers to learn new techniques, and enter their creations into a contest. I have never participated, but this month the Butterfly swirl was a technique I haven't been able to achieve. So I decided to give it a whirl!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I watched the instructions over and over, and even took notes. I had 2 soaps planned to attempt the swirl, and a few other soaps to make at the same time. I got all set up, and began soaping. To warm up, I began with my non Butterfly swirls soaps. Everything went smoothly. Then I took a deep breath, and began soaping my Butterfly swirl soaps. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I couldn't wait to cut into them! Here are the results:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Virgo </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">First attempt</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(Maybe a butterfly if you squint? I see an angel if I look at one bar alone)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Second attempt</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(Yeah I don't see a butterfly no matter how much I squint! Maybe if I turn them over?)</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Well what do you know? It does look like a Butterfly! I didn't see it until this moment. HA! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And here is where it gets funny. The next soap I made before Virgo and Hydra. I did swirl it, but it was random. And low and behold what do I see? A butterfly! I don't believe I will ever be able to achieve this again, as I have no idea how I did it! </span></div>

I never expected to be chosen, and about did a cartwheel when I got the email! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then my package came. 8 mystery fragrances to play with! The girls and I all took turns secretly sniffing and sniffing, writing down our thoughts. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>First Impressions in the Bottle:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1 - Fruity</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2 - Chocolate. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3 - Citrus </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4 - Sweet Sour/Tart Candy</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">5 - Musk. Masculine. Cologne</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">6- Baby Powder</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">7 - Christmas Tree! Maybe a hint of berry? But without a doubt - Christmas tree in a bottle!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">8 - Hard to put a finger on. Masculine</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then it came time to make SOAP! I made 8 one pound batches. I left most of the soap batter uncolored to see what the fragrance would do. I didn't stick blend unless I had to due to ricing.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Performance:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1 - Started to get thick with hand stirring. No ricing, discoloration to tan.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2 - Slow mover. No ricing. Discolored dark brown.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3 - Discolored tan</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4 - No discoloration, easy to work with. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">5 - Moved quickly, slight darkening </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">6 - </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thickened quickly, ricing. Discolored greenish brown</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">7 - Slow mover. No ricing or discoloration</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">8 - Fast mover. Discolored to a yellowish brown</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Now it is soap.....</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Amazing how much a fragrance can change after it is soap! Only a few fragrances are similar to the out of bottle scent. Several did a complete 180! I am including photos - these are unedited and raw! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1 - Pineapple! This was a total surprise! LOVE!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In case you can't tell, I do not like 5 or 8 at ALL. Blah. That is sad because they were quite nice in the bottle. I LOVE 1 & 3, really like 4 & 7, 2 & 6 are okay. And the only one that resembles it's scent in the bottle is #7! Crazy!</span><br />

We have our favorite tools and ingredients. Today I am going to talk about my favorite tools! <br />
<br />
For me, my molds and liners allow me to be creative, and design soap I can be proud of. My molds are from my favorite supply company, Bramble Berry. My <a href="http://www.brambleberry.com/5-Pound-Mold-With-Sliding-Bottom-P5426.aspx" target="_blank">Mold</a> & <a href="http://www.brambleberry.com/Silicone-Liner-for-5-lb-Wood-Mold-P5270.aspx" target="_blank">Liner</a> are an important part of my soap making process. They help me maintain uniform bars, and allow me to use many different techniques. And when I don't pour soap down the sides, un-molding is a dream! <br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have been so busy with my family, markets and holiday shows that I am barely keeping up. So sadly things like my blog had to be put on hold for a while. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I had an interesting discussion with some other soapers today. Actually it was scary. These people were trying to convince me that it is okay to mislabel their products. They label vegan when it is not, label organic when it has not been certified, make medical claims that are against FDA regulations, and omit ingredients. One of the biggest reasons I started soaping was because of the ingredients big manufacturers hid in their labels. I expect more from handmade soapers.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Rest assured that every product from Stargazer Soaps discloses 100% of ingredients on the labels. Many of these ingredients you can find in your own kitchen! You can pronounce them and understand them. Now this does get tricky when we are talking about lotions - but know that all of the ingredients I use are chosen with care. I do not use parabens, phalates, formaldehyde or dyes in any of my products. And I never will. Every product I make we use in my home with confidence. And I truly hope you feel confident when using Stargazer Soaps for your family at home.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My promise to you: I will always disclose my ingredients and will be honest about my products! </span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04520719237031551856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949658532580636450.post-53276264832973390902014-04-27T17:33:00.001-07:002014-04-27T17:33:54.707-07:00YouTube Giveaway!<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yesterday I hit 1,000 subscribers on YouTube! And thank you for your support!</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04520719237031551856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949658532580636450.post-60058301793026255732014-03-23T19:03:00.001-07:002014-03-23T19:30:35.368-07:00New products and a bonus!<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Once again, my poor blog has taken a back seat! So what have I been doing? Well, I had over 500 bars of soap to make, lotions, scrubs, lip balms & bath bombs to launch. All while juggling family! New products don't just happen. I spend months researching, testing, reformulating, and testing again. I will only launch products I am completely happy with, and will use on my own family. This doesn't mean I won't change formulas - because I truly believe change is a good thing! I am always looking for ways to make things even better. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So let me introduce you to my new products! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Sugar Scrub! What's so great about sugar scrub? Well.... this sugar scrub is AWESOME! Massaging onto your wet skin turns it into a lotion type scrub. It exfoliates, and rinses away leaving your skin soft and moisturized. It isn't greasy, and is pretty thick. I use loads of sugar. I prefer it this way. After all my tests, I felt a high sugar content left my skin softest. I used a high about of Rice Bran oil, which is full of antioxidants. It is supposed to do many things for your skin.... google it. I can't make any claims ;)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qthOzkpQ418/Uy99jCtYZoI/AAAAAAAAAUo/4VD0VILEz1o/s1600/Coconut-lime-verbena-sugar-scrub.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qthOzkpQ418/Uy99jCtYZoI/AAAAAAAAAUo/4VD0VILEz1o/s1600/Coconut-lime-verbena-sugar-scrub.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Lip Balm! Available in several flavors! I began adding Stevia to my balms, as most you find are sweetened. But what I found is it isn't necessary. It can at times be a little gritty, (actually nice exfoliation!), and really isn't needed. Our brains are pretty awesome. Just the scent of the flavor makes us think we are tasting what we are smelling - even though there is no real flavor in the balm! Crazy, isn't it? So while I currently offer balms with Stevia, I will not be replacing them. My balms are made with all natural oils, and don't have a heavy waxy feel. Testers and I agree - the balm lasts for hours and doesn't need to be applied often! Great for those of us who are addicted to lip products.... </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LSy1YeOaLfw/Uy99jFiomfI/AAAAAAAAAUg/6ryXAvbtqLs/s1600/Lip-Balm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LSy1YeOaLfw/Uy99jFiomfI/AAAAAAAAAUg/6ryXAvbtqLs/s1600/Lip-Balm.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Solid lotion bars! Yes, lotion can be solid! What is great about solid lotion? Glad you asked! It is great for on the go! When I fly, I don't check my luggage. Now I have one less thing to cram into my tiny zipper bag! I also love that I can rub onto my body and not have lotion all over my hands, or stuck in my rings. My kids love them too, and I don't have to worry about the mess! My 8 year old has severe Eczema, and the lotion bars are a lift saver for her. They are made with high quality, skin loving oils & butters, and soften with just the heat of your skin. Another great thing about solid lotion bars? No water = no preservative! (More on that later)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lIrTJ_03X0o/Uy99jyW17-I/AAAAAAAAAU0/XB9cutA07ys/s1600/Triple-Butter-Lotion-Bar.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lIrTJ_03X0o/Uy99jyW17-I/AAAAAAAAAU0/XB9cutA07ys/s1600/Triple-Butter-Lotion-Bar.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Bath Bombs! I didn't understand all the hype about bath bombs until I tried them myself. They leave your skin so soft it's crazy! And they are fun! They fizz for a bit, sending the scent floating into the air. I have had so much fun with these, I may start making Bath Bomb cupcakes..... which would also bubble. That is several months away though. But hmmmmm..... </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

But I have a good reason!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have been so busy preparing for spring festivals! With over 1,000 products to prepare, I don't have much time to sit still. Not only do I have to make them all by hand.... from scratch... I have to make labels, wrap and package them too! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bgk3pfOMUEg/UwusL-mADHI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/hQtCHkMGFHw/s1600/Coming+Soon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bgk3pfOMUEg/UwusL-mADHI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/hQtCHkMGFHw/s1600/Coming+Soon.jpg" height="177" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There are some exciting things coming! In the next month, I will be releasing Lip Balms, Bath Bombs, Lotion Bars and Scrubs. Yay! I am having so much fun with my new products!</span><br />

This is a tricky thing! And results will vary for everyone. I am going to share my experience with you.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When I first started making my own soap, I tried washing my hair with my bar. The first day I was so excited! But that excitement quickly faded. My hair was so tangly and waxy that I couldn't get a brush through it. Well, my experiment was over. I decided bar soap and hair didn't go together.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">That didn't end my desire for it to work though. So while I kept using commercial shampoo, I was researching shampoo bars like crazy. I found a common theme. People either loved them or hated them. Many things come into play with shampoo bars. First thing to know is your hair's PH is different than your skin. And the natural PH of handmade soap is perfect for skin. And when making the switch from commercial products to handmade, there is a detox period. This applies to your hair and skin! The time varies for everyone, but six weeks is pretty normal.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">While I was researching, my step dad mentioned he had been using the soap as shampoo and loved it. Well, my three days wasn't going to cut it. So I grabbed a bar loaded with butters, determined to try again. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Many days I wanted to give up. My hair was waxy, hard to brush, and, well it's hard to describe! But I almost gave up. Some people talk about using an apple cider vinegar rinse. Well, I hate the smell of vinegar. Despise it. So that wasn't an option for me. I started using pure coconut oil to condition a few times a week. It helped, but I still wasn't happy. But I didn't give up. And one day I noticed something different. My hair was soft, thick, and manageable. I also discovered I didn't need to wash every day. And unlike when I was using shampoo, my hair did not get greasy between washes. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This renewed my quest for a shampoo bar. I began playing with formulas, and finally made a batch about a month ago. It is really soft, so will need a longer cure time. After about 3 weeks, I couldn't wait anymore. I took a tiny piece and tried it. And I have to say - I am in LOVE with it! My hair is soft and silky, and feels amazing! I have severe eczema on my scalp - which has not flared up once in the last 2 weeks, in-spite of the really cold and dry weather. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My husband has noticed a difference too. His bald spot is getting smaller! His hair is thicker, and he isn't noticing as much falling out anymore. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now your results may vary. Many things factor into the success of shampoo bars. Are you prepared for the six week detox period? It isn't easy - but worth it! Do you have hard or soft water? Thick or thin hair? Coarse or fine? </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I will be releasing my shampoo bars in the coming months once I perfect my formula. While my natural & silk soaps worked well for us, the shampoo bars are even better! My whole family is washing their hair with my shampoo bars and we all love them! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

It isn't a simple answer!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Years ago, I had a small business. At the time, my brother lived with me. When I was searching for a name, he actually chose it for me. Almost 4 years ago, my brother passed away. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So many things I do, I do because of my brother. He has inspired me. To follow my dreams, to change the world, to be a better person. When trying to find a name for my soap business, I wanted something to honor him. But the name he chose years ago was not appropriate for my soap business. One evening I was outside looking up at the stars. Something my brother and I used to do. When we were children, we would lay in the yard and watch the stars together. It was a peaceful thing for us. That is when it hit me. Stargazer Soaps. And for a theme, I can name each soap after something in the sky. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I research every name I chose, and try to find something fitting for my soap. It isn't easy! However I am really enjoying learning so much about our universe. And I feel like my brother is still involved in my business, from the Heavens above. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So in honor of my Brother Aaron, Stargazer Soaps will continue to find inspiration from above. </span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04520719237031551856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949658532580636450.post-24945507203001354492014-01-23T19:28:00.000-08:002014-01-23T19:28:14.321-08:00Who doesn't want FREE soap?<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Last year I had the opportunity to work with a few bloggers. Ahh.... how nice it was to be able to create again! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">First I made Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. I did two batches, one scented & one unscented. I used raw goat milk from a local dairy, and fresh, raw honey from a local farm, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/creekside.honey?fref=ts" target="_blank">Creekside Honey</a>. (LOVE their Honey!)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Wl2f7b58vDg/UuCGZ-XWY3I/AAAAAAAAATE/tHqJuH7u2OQ/s1600/DSC_0015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Wl2f7b58vDg/UuCGZ-XWY3I/AAAAAAAAATE/tHqJuH7u2OQ/s1600/DSC_0015.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is a rough photo - I took this right after I cut the soaps. But I am so pleased with them! I took a little sliver and tested it - super early to do this BUT the bubbles! Holly cow! I can't wait to use this soap! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then I got to play with COLOR. Here are Lyra, (Plumeria), & Cygnus, (Coconut Lime Verbena). My 8 year old chose the colors and design for Lyra. And she did an amazing job! These soaps smell simply amazing! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y84OiHaWirs/UuCGZg9abHI/AAAAAAAAATI/nYW_Sk8w040/s1600/DSC_0011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y84OiHaWirs/UuCGZg9abHI/AAAAAAAAATI/nYW_Sk8w040/s1600/DSC_0011.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You can see me make these soaps! Follow me on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/StargazerSoaps" target="_blank">YouTube!</a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">All four of these soaps will be fully cured March 4th, 2014.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04520719237031551856noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949658532580636450.post-89067944570531340472014-01-20T21:24:00.000-08:002014-01-20T21:24:32.697-08:00Where have I been?<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It has been way too long since I have written on my poor, neglected blog! The holidays were crazy in our home. But things are finally getting back to normal! (With 4 children, is that even possible?)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A wonderful customer posted this on her Facebook page the other day: </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IZUERJXQQjg/Ut4CFPjVfwI/AAAAAAAAASw/qslzbe6cgz4/s1600/Before+after.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IZUERJXQQjg/Ut4CFPjVfwI/AAAAAAAAASw/qslzbe6cgz4/s1600/Before+after.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How cool is this? Sadly, my shower does not look like either of these photos. I don't have bottles in my shower, but do have a dozen or so soaps! Like me, she has tossed all the chemicals. She is even using Stargazer Soaps to wash her hair! Now let me talk about that for a moment.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you decide to toss your shampoo, know that your hair will have to detox. It takes about 6 weeks for your hair to adjust. In the meantime, you may need to use a conditioner once in a while, an apple cider vinegar rinse, or just rub in some coconut oil. I have heard different reports - from oily, waxy hair, to dry and stringy during the detox period. I can tell you - I almost gave up on several occasions. But I am so glad I didn't. My hair is soft and manageable, and I don't have to wash it every day anymore. Which is better for your hair and scalp anyway! I cut my husband's hair last night, and noticed his hair is thicker. His bald spot is smaller! (Sorry Honey!) Something to note - the PH of soap is much higher than shampoo. Depending on your hair and water, your results may be different than ours. Everyone is unique! I am currently playing with a shampoo bar and will share the results! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My whole family uses our soaps for our whole body - face, hair, shaving, (my husband shaves his face with it!). I even wash my dishes! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am preparing to make Oatmeal, Milk & Honey soap tomorrow. I will be using Raw Goat milk from a local farm, and Raw Honey from a local bee keeper! I am so excited! I will be offering scented and unscented versions. Yay!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have been busy soaping! I have sold out of so much lately, I have had to make tons of soap! And with the exception of 2 remakes, they are all new! Including a Vanilla Beer Porter Soap! AND..... BIGGER BARS! YAY!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Why Beer soap? Well there are many reasons really. There are a lot of benefits to beer in soap. But as I don't make claims other than my soap will clean, I cannot go into that here. You will need to do some research! You can research online, or order a bar and see for yourself! While the Vanilla Porter Beer soap is geared toward men, I wouldn't hesitate to use it myself!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

What are they? How are they different?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I use two type of fragrances in my soaps. In my Purely Natural line, I use Essential oils. In my Pure Silk Soaps, I use Fragrance oils.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How are they different?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Essential oils are purely natural. The oils are extracted from plants. Many believe essential oils can be beneficial for many things, such as medicinal purposes, acne, mood, illnesses just to name a few. I do not use essential oils for a specific purpose other than scent. However, I may chose to use one bar over another one day because of the essential oil used in the soap, not just for the scent but for the purpose of the oil itself. As I do not make claims as to what essential oils or my soaps can do for you, I recommend you research the oils. There is a wealth of information online, and in books. I have found multiple free Kindle books on Amazon about essential oils.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fragrance oils are a wonderful way to achieve a scent not possible with essential oils. For example, you can't capture the smell of bubble gum with essential oils. Fragrance oils contain both natural and synthetic ingredients. I choose high quality fragrance oils from companies I trust. My whole family uses soap from both of my lines. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am very sensitive to fragrances & perfumes. I use half the recommended amount of fragrance and essential oils in all of my soaps. I prefer a light scent to something you can smell from down the street.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I hope this helps explain the difference in scents! I usually have 3-6 bars to choose from in the shower, and about as many around my sinks in the home. But as I was moving my soaping room this weekend, (more on that later!), I couldn't help but stop and smell every bar on my curing rack. A newly cured soap is Polaris - A pure silk soap fragranced with strong notes of buttercream vanilla, and hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. I have to admit that I washed more than once - it was just yummy!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Well, there are many options available to soapers. Clays, Micas, Oxides, Ultramarines, Herbs, Titanium Dioxide, Dyes. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What are they? Micas, Oxides, & Ultramarines are all Minerals found in the Earth. However, they are not safe to use in their pure form. They are processed in a lab, and can even be created in a lab. Some contain dyes, some do not. Bottom line is most are synthetic since they are most likely created in a lab. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Titanium Dioxide - I recently did a post on this colorant <a href="http://stargazersoaps.blogspot.com/2013/10/youtube.html" target="_blank">Here</a>. But this is also a mineral found in the earth. You simply cannot have white without it. Unlike Micas, Oxides & Ultramarines, it is not lab created. It is processed to remove impurities to make it useable, much like salt.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Clays & Herbs are natural colorants that can also be used in soap making, and are a wonderful addition to soap. I use clays in all of my silk soap. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Last, but not least are Dyes. Dyes are FD&C dyes, and are chemicals. I do not use any colorants that contain dyes at all. I make soap to avoid chemicals, so using these colors defeats my purpose!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Some may have concerns about the use of synthetic colorants. Well, keep in mind that Fragrance oil is synthetic too. This is why I choose to offer 2 options. I have my Silk line which uses color and fragrance oil, and my Natural line which uses natural color if at all, and natural essential oils. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I personally use both soaps in my home for myself and my children. But you must make the decision that is right for you! We have loads of fun with colors and fragrances. But I can tell you in my shower you will find both natural and silk soaps! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One more thing to note - your eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polish? <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Last weekend I made 4 more Twilight soaps - Esme, Carlise, Jacob & Forks. I am pretty happy with how they turned out! They are cut and waiting to be cleaned. Cleaning soap? Yes I know how that sounds! More on that later.</span><div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1ySBSsq2SNA/UlGZXb1DbHI/AAAAAAAAAK0/BnJyQjEx0ek/s1600/IMG_5405.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1ySBSsq2SNA/UlGZXb1DbHI/AAAAAAAAAK0/BnJyQjEx0ek/s320/IMG_5405.jpg" width="240" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Esme & Carlise</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-11zEiBMTDzM/UlGZXp408fI/AAAAAAAAAK4/I3gS3xW1LB8/s1600/IMG_5406.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-11zEiBMTDzM/UlGZXp408fI/AAAAAAAAAK4/I3gS3xW1LB8/s320/IMG_5406.jpg" width="240" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Forks & Jacob</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I had said that I was done with my holiday soaps. That was before I discovered Peppermint Candy and Holiday Candy fragrances! So today I am planning on making Peppermint Candy, 2 more Twilight soaps, and perhaps something chocolaty.... Milky Way maybe? I think yes! </span></div>

It has been crazy in our household. Everyone is asleep except me, and while I am nursing a migraine I decided to take a few moments to catch up!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As most know, I have a Youtube channel. I don't film 100% of my soap batches, but do film most of them. I have found the videos help me later when I need to remember how I made a soap. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I always find it interesting when people comment. Some are so nice, others not so much. Thankfully most all of the comments I have received have been positive. Some soaper friends I follow have had some nasty comments - it's easy to hide behind a computer screen. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Tonight I had some comments on a video that caused concern for me. The commenter stated that Titanium Dioxide is as natural as dog poo.... and that my caffeine isn't safe as we shouldn't use products from China. He went on to instruct me that I should be testing my products prior to selling to the public. He happily shared more thoughts on how I should make soap, finishing with he has never made soap himself. Well that explained a lot! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So to put the minds of my customers at ease - I do not purchase caffeine from China! It is an American made product, and does not contain fillers or any junk. It is 100% pure. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have done extensive testing, and tweaking and more testing, and continue to do so. I test every batch of soap I make. If I wouldn't use it on my family, I would not sell it and allow someone else use it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Titanium Dioxide. Titanium Dioxide is a mineral. (So is Salt!) It is perfectly safe, and 100% natural. Though I would not eat it in the pure form, it can be found in products we consume. Organic and non organic alike. Look at your labels - vitamins? You may be surprised at what you find!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I began soaping because of the research I did on chemicals in soap. The products I use have been throughly researched, and I am careful with what I chose. I disclose 100% of my ingredients so you can have the tools you need to make an educated decision. I want my customers to have confidence in my soap. I use products that I find acceptable to bathe my children with. Everyone in my household uses my soap on a daily basis. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I encourage everyone to do their own research, decide what is and is not acceptable to you, and use the products that meet those needs. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyone wanting to see my videos on Youtube, can find me </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/StargazerSoaps?feature=watch" target="_blank">Here</a>.</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04520719237031551856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949658532580636450.post-33828807546013305982013-09-23T13:17:00.002-07:002013-09-23T13:17:45.612-07:00Holiday & Winter soapsI just finished the last of my holiday soaps. And I am so in love with them! The scents are just amazing. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B7-E07SqFTc/UkChxMHb-ZI/AAAAAAAAAKk/OOhtE1R-DZA/s1600/IMG_5374.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B7-E07SqFTc/UkChxMHb-ZI/AAAAAAAAAKk/OOhtE1R-DZA/s320/IMG_5374.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And they have inspired me to make some more warm, winter scents. I am anxiously awaiting for some new fragrances to arrive later this week! In the meantime, I have 8 Twilight soaps to make. Busy week ahead!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04520719237031551856noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949658532580636450.post-29534269527621950742013-09-22T09:30:00.002-07:002013-09-22T09:31:54.827-07:00Why handmade soap?<br />

<li style="color: #222222; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Soap - true soap - requires oils/fats & an alkali in order to make soap. <li style="color: #222222; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">If soap is not labeled as "soap", it does not fall under the strict soap FDA guidelines. <li style="color: #222222; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">We only use natural ingredients in our bars, however what sets apart our purely natural line from our silk line is that the purely natural soaps use essential oils whereas the silk line uses a combination of fragrance oil.</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span></li>
